Boodle Boxes have long been used to to send a little bit of home to those serve.  Every year our club sends every Colorado cadet box in the fall.

This year the build will be held on October 12, at the Smoky Vineyards Church, located at 20050 E Smoky Hill Road (https://www.shvchurch.org).  We usually finish in 90 minutes or so - the more help we get the less time it takes!

More details to follow including signup if you'd like to donate items, volunteer to assist with the building of the boxes or both.

If any of you would like to meet and share ideas and plan some meeting spots for Ring Weekend, let's meet up this Saturday at 1PM?  We’ve had two families suggest a gathering spot already, but no details as of yet.  One is the roof top bar of the Thayer and the other is the hotel in Ft. Montgomery.  Please RSVP if you are able to come OR reply with suggestions you have if you can’t make it.  IF no-one can make the get together this Saturday, we will come up with a plan via email - contact Jamie for details.

Let’s meet at Einstein Bagel
Address: 5131 Kipling St Ste 610, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033
Time: 1:00pm to 2:00pm

On June 29th West Point welcomed more than 1,190 candidates from every state in the nation to begin six weeks of Cadet Basic Training and the first day of their transition from civilian to new cadet as a member of the Class of 2023 (see their smiling faces)!

The incoming class was selected from a pool of nearly 12,300 applicants that include 16 international students, 285 women, 400 minorities (180 African-Americans, 145 Hispanic Americans, 99 Asian-Americans and 19 Native Americans), and 17 combat veterans who will be immersed into the basic military competencies and leader development training that will prepare them for acceptance into the Corps of Cadets.

Candidates entering the class under the sponsorship of their respective countries include: Columbia, Egypt, Fiji (2), The Gambia, Georgia (2), Honduras, Jordan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Rwanda, and Thailand.

New cadets will complete six weeks of Cadet Basic Training, learning the basic skills of the Soldier. They will participate in rigorous physical training, small-unit tactical training, and rifle marksmanship, as well as learning to respond quickly and accurately to their commanders under conditions of mental and physical stress. At the end of this initial training period, new cadets will be formally accepted into the Corps of Cadets. The Acceptance Day Parade for the Class of 2023 is scheduled for 10 AM on Saturday, 17 August.
